Pranabda and the Poisoned Presidency Part 2

After fresh news of Pranabda’s indiscretions there has been lot of attempt by *Liberals* to justify his stand. It is not out of place to remind it was the same set of people who *slammed* Kiran Bedi for her indiscretions on her ticket misadventure Be it as it may let us see Pranabda’s earlier record in this context.

From the Shah Commission – Interim Report – 1, issued on March 11, 1978:

Para 7.222 ……….Thereafter the file was marked to MRE, the then Minister of Revenue and Expenditure, Mr. Pranab Kumar Mukherjee. Mr. Pranab Kumar Mukherjee recorded a note on September 7, 1975 which reads as under :-

“May be released on Parole as proposed. However P.M. may kindly like to see”

7.223 Shri Pranab Mukherjee marked this note to P.M. ………What decision was taken by the prime Minister in this matter is not indicated in the file, but it has been noticed that Shri Pranab Mukherjee pasted his earlier note dated September 7, 1975 recommending release on parole. if the note sheet is put against bright light, the noting of Shri Pranab Mukherjee reproduced earlier can be easily read……
